2 simple fears that stop your success

“The greatest barrier to success is the fear of failure.” Sven Goran Eriksson
As Marianne Williamson said of our deepest fears, "your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do." Yet we do shrink. We do hide ourselves because of our fears. We do hold ourselves back when we should step forward. But why?

Marianne said that our deepest fear is that we're powerful beyond measure. She was right. However, I believe there are two lesser fears that stop most people in their tracks and greatly hamper their success.

It's often the way in life that when everything seems to be getting busier and busier around you, the comfortable, controlled way you're used to living has to be put to one side while you keep up. You get caught in the race of life and struggle to keep pace with the leaders.

Before I crack on with some great new posts next week, I wanted to follow on from the review of some of my favourite posts from Wednesday and focus today on the video posts that I have created for 6Aliens and other blogs on a variety of different subjects. I really like doing videos because its more aligned with my speaking and training. I don't feel I'm quite fully myself on video yet but I know that will become easier in time. It's a bit different for me to be in front of the laptop rather than a room full of people but hopefully you have gained something from seeing them.

A Review of 6aliens.com – The #7links Challenge

Some readers may have seen the 7 links challenge floating around the blogosphere in recent days. If you've not heard of it, the 7 links challenge is the brain child of ProBlogger's Darren Rowse with the aim

Seeing as I've not had a review post on 6aliens.com for a while, I thought this would be a great way of sharing some of my favourite posts that you might have missed over the last 8 months. I hope you enjoy this reflective look back over the archives as much as I have.

Work harder on yourself than you do on your job ~ Jim Rohn

So I'm sat here after what feels like a really unpleasant few weeks. Nothing particularly bad has happened, just lots of little things building up and gaining momentum that have made me feel like I'm dragging a weight behind me that I can't shake. Coupled to that has been the feeling that something wasn't right, like I was a bit lost and I could quite figure out why. Then the penny dropped. I'd stopped working on me. And instantly the weight and feeling was gone.
